For these images, I needed to edit them like to Gabriele Viertel’s. This had been a difficult shoot and it was going to be hard to get them exactly like hers.
When studying Viertel’s photography, her images were very crisp and vibrant, which I could enhance through editing. Her backgrounds were mostly black, and after several attempts, I decided it was almost impossible to recreate this via editing as my model’s dress was transparent.
For my edit, I added brightness and slightly lowered the contrast. I then selected the model and adjusted the vibrancy and added a cool filter.
The image was then sharped. The healing brush tool was used in certain areas and the background cleaned up with the clone tool to make the swimming pool lines less obvious.
